About me

Hi! My name is Catherine. I work with directors and production companies to compose custom music for their projects. Music is powerful and elevates picture in a way nothing else can. I try to celebrate this connection to its fullest with each project I do. My goal is to bring the creative vision of the director/production company to life so the brand/client is always happy. I’m proud to be among the few (but growing) community of female composers, producers, writers and engineers sharing their voice in the world.

Have a specific vision in mind or a temp track that your client is attached to and need a similar vibe? Need a fast turnaround and a specific budget? I got you.

Dubbed a “renaissance woman” by her high school Spanish teacher, Catherine has spent much of her life discovering and experimenting with her creative talents. As a baby she sat contentedly for hours next to the piano as her mother taught lessons and by age two would climb onto the bench and play coherent melodies. She wrote and recorded her first song at age 8 and dabbled in choirs, alto sax, flute, guitar, jazz piano, arranging and recording music as an adolescent and teenager. She attended BYU in Utah to study media music with an emphasis in synthesizer and there she spent countless hours locked away in the studio learning how to produce. She took so many recording classes she earned a certificate in sound recording technology as well as a bachelor of music. In college, she continued her knack for arranging in BYU’s premiere all female cappella group, Noteworthy, winning several awards and leading them to win the International Competition of Collegiate Acappella.

More recently, she’s constrained that creative energy and found a passion in composing music for commercial ad work including brands such as Sony, Fjall Raven, Life360 and Insight Global.  Catherine makes up 1/3 of the band Book on Tape Worm alongside Scott Shepard and Ciera Black Walker. She lives near the mountains of Salt Lake City with her husband, daughter and standard poodle, Copper.
